Barbara (Bell) Sargent, 72, of Derry, passed away surrounded by her family on October 24, 2018, at Warde Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Windham after battling Alzheimer’s for several years.
Barbara was born August 1, 1946, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Dorothy and Warren Bell. She graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1964.
Barbara was a long-time resident of Derry, where she lived since 1976. Barbara was a skilled seamstress, she volunteered her time at the Sonshine Soup Kitchen and loved the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics. She welcomed family and friends to her home, most times with a smile and chocolate chip cookies.
Survived by her husband Robert of 51 years, two daughters, Susan O’Neill and her husband Daniel O’Neill of Talking Rock, Georgia, and Barbara Marshall and her husband Lindsay of Milton, Georgia. A son Scott Sargent of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Rebecca (O’Neill) Addison, Rachael O’Neill, Ryan Marshall, Andrew Marshall, Caroline Marshall, Zofia Sargent, Elise Sargent, one great granddaughter Lucy Belle, one brother Warren Bell and his wife Gloria Jean of Derry, NH and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Berry Sargent of Sharron, MA.
Barbara’s mother, father, and one son, Bobby Sargent, preceded her in death.
There will be no calling hours. Family and friends will gather at a celebration of her life on Friday November 30, 2018 at 3:00pm at Warde Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 21 Searles Rd., Windham, where she spent the last 15 months lovingly cared for by many.
