Joseph “Joe” Aiesi
Retired HVAC Mechanic


Joseph “Joe” Aiesi, age 82, of Tewksbury, passed peacefully at home in the care of his family and hospice on Wednesday, October 24th, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was the beloved husband of Marie (Follo) for 52 years.

Born in the North End section of Boston on January 30, 1936, he was the son of the late Francesco and Rosaria (Siciliano) Aiesi.

A resident of Tewksbury for over 40 years, he was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett Vocational High School in 1953.

After working a few odd jobs, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1957 and proudly served for four years.

Prior to his retirement, Joe was employed as an HVAC Mechanic by M.I.T in Cambridge, MA and St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton, MA, where he worked for over 30 years.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, vacationing at his condo in Florida, watching Patriots games and puttering around in his workshop.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Frank S. Aiesi of Haverhill, MA; Laura M. Russo and her husband, Eric, of Haverhill, MA; and Christopher J. Aiesi of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Joe was the brother of the late Michael Aiesi, Phyllis Aiesi and Jennie Devlin.

Calling hours will be Sunday, October 28th, from 3-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, MA. His funeral procession will begin on Monday, October 29th, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St (Rte 38) in Tewksbury. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm Street, Everett.
