SWANSEA – Lucille A. (Gagnon) Fernandes, 82 of Somerset & previously of Keeley St. Fall River & Cross Rd. Tiverton, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 at the Country Gardens Health & Rehab. Center with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward R. Fernandes and the daughter of the late Albert D. & Alice E. (Tessier) Gagnon.
Lucille earned her Associates Degree in Library Science, and went on to work as a librarian from 1980-2003 in the Inter-Library Loan Dept. for UMASS Dartmouth. She enjoyed her gardening, reading books, and attending to the needs of her dogs. She will always be remembered for her love of baking pies and cookies.
Survivors include her children: Karen A. Ellenwood (husband Robert), Leslie A. Uehara (husband Chikachi), Neil E. Fernandes, Marc E. Fernandes, Jill A. Camara (husband Edward), John E. Fernandes, Randall E. Fernandes (wife Jennifer), and the late Andrew E. Fernandes; siblings: Claire Johnson (husband Toby), Anita “Bonnie” Palana (husband Frank), & Albert D. Gagnon Jr. (wife Katy); grandchildren: Alissa & Robert Ellenwood (wife Cori), Nicholas Fernandes, Holly Souza (husband Ryan), Dan Uehara, Kai Uehara, Kristina , Andrew, & Chloe Fernandes; great grandchildren: Dylan & Troy Souza, and Otto Ellenwood; several nieces & nephews.

Lucille’s funeral service will take place in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River with a visitation on Monday, Oct. 29th from 9:30-11:00 A.M. with a services to follow at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. www.rogersfuneral.com.
