WESTPORT – Betty Louise (Borden) Ameen, 92 of Westport & formerly of Borden West, 181 S. Main St. Fall River, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018 at St. Anne’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Emil (Smokey) Ameen & the late William Schmidt. Betty was the daughter of the late James & Gladys (Traynor) Borden.
Prior to retiring, Betty worked as a waitress at Venus de Milo Restaurant for many years. She loved yard sales, craft fairs, & trying her luck at the local casinos.
Survivors include her children: William Schmidt of Columbus, OH, Corinne Walker of Cincinnati, OH, Ruth Frazee of Rio Rancho, NM, Diana Gifford of Melbourne, FL & Karen Boule of Westport, MA.; siblings: Ruth Curt & James Borden both of Somerset; 10 grandchildren; 2 deceased grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 deceased great grandchild; many nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Richard Borden, Isabel Reynolds, Chester Borden, Janice Burdick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s memory, to the American Cancer Society.
