Therese Brissette, 92, of Woonsocket died Thursday October 18, 2018 at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the loving wife of the late Normand Brissette. They were married on September 7, 1946 and shared over 62 years together until his passing in 2009.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was daughter of the late Charles and Yvonne (Berard) Morell. She was a lifelong resident of the city.
Therese was employed in the local textile industry at the Argonne Worsted mill and at Dursin Dye Company for many years until her retirement.
Therese was a longtime communicant of St. Agatha’s Parish and a member of the St. Agatha senior citizens club, Royal Travelers, Mount Vernon Forever Young Club and the Kennedy Manor Tenants Association.
Terry was a fan of the Boston Bruins no matter what the score. Bingo was her game of choice and trips to Foxwoods were her true adventures. Her favorite pastime was reading and she was known to read a book a day. Crossword puzzles were fun too.
Terry was a fun and friendly lady who willingly shared her opinions, sometimes too willingly, but always in good fun!
Terry was a devoted mother and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a son Paul L. Brissette and his wife Doreen of Woonsocket. She was the sister of the late Gedeon, Roland and Sam Morell, Rena Richard, Lauretta Guay and Cecile Morell. She was the grandmother of Adam Gagne, Charlene Mowry and her husband Chad and Marc Brissette and his wife Sheri and great-grandmother of Mackenzie, Mia and Sydney and is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:00 am in St. Agatha Church, Joffre Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Monday morning from 8:30 – 9:30 am, prior to Mass, in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
