Mr. Ernest J. Landry, a longtime resident of Andover and beloved husband of the late Aurora M. (Brissette) Landry, passed away at Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. He was 89 years old.
Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on October 30, 1928, he was the beloved son of the late Telesphore and Alvina (Beaudoin) Landry. Mr. Landry was an Air Force veteran, entering the military on October 2, 1947 and receiving his honorable discharge on September 11, 1953. In civilian life, Mr. Landry worked as a Technical Writer for Raytheon. In retirement, Ernest enjoyed living in Nashua, New Hampshire and Florida. Ernest enjoyed spending time with his beloved family as well as playing bridge at the Andover Senior Center; he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving children; James L. and his wife Patricia (Valentine) of Casco, Maine, Susan A. and her husband Daniel Ferris, III of Andover and Jacqueline D. and her husband Timothy Barry of Andover, cherished grandchildren; Jeannette Logue, Richard Landry Jr., Elizabeth Talon, Daniel Ferris IV, Garrett Ferris, James Landry, Jr., Brian Landry, Valerie Wells, and Justin Barry; great-grandchildren; Shawn Wells, Ian Ferris, Rachel Landry, Madison Landry, Taylor Landry, Meghan Ferris, Jake Landry, Brendan Ferris, Eleanor Ferris, Sam Logue, Will Landry, Daniel Ferris V, Emma Logue, Sophia Landry, Campbell Talon and Logan Talon as well as many nieces and nephews. Ernest was predeceased by his beloved son Richard Landry and his sisters Jeanette Boisvert and Simone Cournoyer.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Saturday October 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be privately held.
