William Scott Lane, 40, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 7, 2018. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at Christ Lutheran Church in Perry. Scott was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia on November 28, 1977. As a child, he had a passion for all sports, but he was especially fond of baseball. Scott played baseball through most of his time at Fitzgerald High School. His hard worked finally paid off and he received a baseball scholarship that allowed Scott to continue his love for the sport. While he was the pitcher at South Georgia College, he held a no-hitter record. He also enjoyed fishing and golfing with his friends and family. Scott earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Valdosta State University. He spent 17 years working with Turner’s Furniture and had hoped to be able to help with the new store in Middle Georgia. Scott had a special bond with his nieces, Kaitlyn and Taylor. He will forever be loved and missed.
Left to cherish the memories they shared with Scott are his parents, Bill (Donna) Lane of Jacksonville and Karen (David) Butler of Kathleen; his brother, Eric (Ashlee) Lane of Tampa; his nieces, Kaityln Lane and Taylor Lane.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
