Phyllis E. Curley, 93, of Derry, NH, formerly of Winthrop, MA passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, after a period of declining health. Phyllis was born July 2, 1925 in Lynn, MA and was the last of seven children of the late James and Helen (Hall) Muldoon. She was raised and educated in Lynn, and resided in Winthrop, MA for many years, prior to relocating to Derry, 31 years ago.
Phyllis worked as a caregiver for mentally challenged youth for many years, after her retirement, she worked at Goodwill and other small jobs. She enjoyed reading and painting, but will forever be remembered for her love of shopping!
Members of the family include her daughter Laurena Skalinski and her husband David of Derry, a granddaughter, Jessica Skalinski of Somerville, MA, daughter Eileen M. Tweed of Sarasota, FL and her grandson Matthew Tweed of San Francisco, CA, her god daughter and niece, Phyllis Chopelas and her sons Steve and Mark, and a niece, Eileen Smith of Medford, MA. Other blood relatives include her son, George W. Curley, Jr. of VA, a daughter, Carolyn J. White of Northboro, MA, a son James M. Curley of Chelmsford, MA and a son John Curley of Kentucky. She was predeceased by her husband, George W. Curley, Sr.
After cremation, a celebration of life will be celebrated by the family at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Phyllis’ honor to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org. or to your local animal shelter. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium is assisting the family with arrangements.
