Josephine (Falco) Masciave of Reading died on Thursday, October 11, at Artis Senior Living of Reading. Born and raised in Corato, Bari, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (Stolfa) Falco. Josephine came to the U.S. while in her teens, settling first in Brooklyn, New York before moving to Massachusetts in 1966. She and her family lived in Somerville for eight years and then moved to Medford where she resided until 1980.
Josephine was the beloved wife of the late Aldo Masciave, and the devoted mother of Dora Masciave, Nunzio Masciave and Joseph Masciave, all of Reading, and Aldo Masciave Jr. and his wife Sarah of Medford. She was the loving grandmother of Samuel and Evelyn Masciave of Medford, and the dear sister of Antoinette Calitri of Brooklyn, NY, and the late Louise Calitri and Michael Falco. Josephine is also survived by many loving in laws, nieces and nephews. Her family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff, residents and their families of Artis Senior Living of Reading for the love and care they provided to Josephine in the last year.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Tuesday October 16 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours Monday, October 15, from 4 through 8 PM.
