Antonio P. Cardoso, 72, of New Bedford passed away Sunday October 7, 2018. He was the husband of Zelinda (DosReis) Cardoso.
Born and raised in Dakar, Senegal, the son of the late Manuel and Josefina Cardoso Teixeira DosReis, he had lived in Cape Verde before moving to New Bedford 32 years ago.
While living in Senegal, Antonio was employed as a professor at a university. After moving to New Bedford, he was a quality assurance manager for the Acushnet Rubber Company.
He is survived by his wife Zelinda; six children, Josefina Cardoso, Alexandre Cardoso, Nelson Cardoso, Fabian Cardoso, Frederick Cardoso, and Sebastian Cardoso; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
His Funeral will be held on Friday October 12, 2018 at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
