Nashua, NH – John J. O’Donnell, 83, formerly of Arlington, MA died on Sunday December 11, in Nashua Crossings Assisted Living.
His wife Therese (Audette) O’Donnell died in 2001. Mr. O’Donnell is survived by two sons John J. O’Donnell of Salt Lake City, UT and Frederick M. O’Donnell of Groton, MA; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by a brother Ed O’Donnell. Mr. O’Donnell was born in Manhattan, NY son of Cornelius and Catherine (Keyes) O’Donnell and served in the United States Army during World War II.
He worked as a mechanic for Payne Elevator Co. in Boston for 40 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of I.U.E.C. Local #4 in Boston, a former member of the V.F.W. Post 6800 in Somerville and the Disable American Veterans Post 49 in Arlington.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday December 14 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a mass at 10 AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church 53 Illinois St. Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Worcester. Calling hours are in the funeral home from 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday December 13.
