Richard E. Lambert, Sr., 80, of Westport, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Rhode Island with his loving wife by his side. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Jacob) Lambert, they shared 61 years of marriage.
Mr. Lambert was born in Fall River, son of the late Edward and Irene (Banville) Lambert. He had resided in Westport for the last 41 years and was actively involved with the town. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a superintendent for DFSP, Melville and later worked as a transfer driver for U-Haul. He was an avid Red Sox, Patriots and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed going to Seekonk Speedway to watch his grandsons race. He liked spending time with his close friends. Mr. Lambert will be remembered as being a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who was very involved in the lives of his entire family.
Survivors along with his wife include his 2 sons: Richard E. Lambert, Jr. and his wife Debbie of N. Providence and Russell A. Lambert and his wife Sheila of Westport; his 2 daughters: Donna L. Lambert and her companion Gary of Westport and Paula A. Bouchard of Westport; a brother: Normand L. Lambert of Fall River; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Donald J. Lambert and Gerald D. Lambert and great grandfather of the late Jacob T. Salva.
