Bridget D’Amore (Campagna) passed away peacefully on October 7 surrounded by family. Bridget was born in the West End of Boston. She lived with her parents a short time in Wisconsin, before moving back to Boston and was raised primarily in the Italian North End. At a social dance in the North End of Boston, she met Alfredo D’Amore she married in 1963 and enjoyed 53 years of marriage before his death just one month ago. Bridget and Alfredo settled in Quincy, MA, to raise their family. Bridget worked at Boston University part-time for over 20 years in order to provide her four children with a private catholic school education. She was extremely proud that all four graduated from BU. In later years after her grandchildren were born, she and Alfredo moved to Canton to be closer to them and saw them almost every day. Bridget was a devoted mom, grandmother, and Catholic.
Beloved wife for 53 years of the late Alfredo G. Bridget is survived by her children Rachel D’Amore-Bonish and her husband Jeff Bonish of Stow, MA, Robert D’Amore of Norwood MA, Laura D’Amore and her husband Richard Johnson of Canton, MA, and Linda D’Amore and her husband John de Szendeffy of Sharon, MA. Bridget was as also “Grammy” to her grandchildren: Marisa Bonish, Simon, Luke and Theodore Johnson, and Audrey and Myles de Szendeffy. She is also survived by her sister Rita Pagliuca and her 2 sons and many aunts and Cousins. Bridget was a devoted mom, grandmother, and Catholic. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Wednesday 4-8 pm. Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Thursday morning at 10:30.
