GENDREAU, Katherine M. (Power) Of Fox Hill Village, Westwood, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at age 81, surrounded by family.
Katherine, known to family and friends as Kathy, was the oldest daughter of the late John F. and Catherine (Hayden) Power of West Roxbury.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Edmund H. Gendreau; her son, Edmund J. Gendreau; her daughter, Katherine E. Gendreau; her daughter, Michelle Girard and her husband, Michael; her brother, John F. Power, Jr. and his wife Diane; and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Joanne Horgan.
Kathy was a graduate of Roslindale High School and Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, playing tennis, and playing the piano. She will be remembered for her strength, courage, compassion, sense of humor, and warm heart. Kathy was a loving wife and mother, and the truest of friends.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, October 10th at St. Margaret Mary Parish 845 High St., Westwood at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in New Westwood Cemetery, Westwood. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Kathy's memory may be made to the MGH Fund 125 Nashua St., Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114-1101.
