ROBERT (BOB) E. GILLERAN,
85, of Andover, was called up to heaven on Wednesday evening, October 3rd, 2018, at the High Pointe House in Haverhill.
He was the beloved husband of the late Gloria L. Gilleran (Izzi), and the son of late Eugene F. and Eileen J. (Ware) Gilleran. Robert was a US Navy Korean Veteran, entering the military on December 2, 1952 at Providence and receiving his honorable discharge on November 20, 1956 from Norfolk, Virginia. He attained the rank of YN2 and was awarded the Navy Occupation Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal for his exemplary service.
In civilian life, Bob was employed as the IPS Manager for Raytheon. He enjoyed playing golf in the Senior Men's Golf League at the Tewksbury Country Club and spending time with family. Bob was also a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Andover. He will be dearly missed.
Bob was a dedicated father to his children; Glenda L. Gilleran and Timothy J. Hagerty and his wife Kathy. He is survived by his sister Rita Dragon. He was the brother of late Eileen Turgeon, Madeline Campbell, Loretta Hughes, Eugene Gilleran, Joseph Gilleran and Lillian Fallens.
His funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, October 10th at 11:00 am at St. Robert Bellarmine, 198 Haggetts Pond Rd, Andover, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the High Pointe House, Merrimack Valley Hospice in Haverhill.
