Obituary

GLOUCESTER—Ruby M. (Spence) Keddie, 88 years old, a former resident of Clancy Street, Chelmsford, for over 55 years, died early Sunday morning at Seacoast Nursing and Retirement Center, in Gloucester. She was the wife of the late George Keddie, who died in 1951.

She was born in Lowell, on December 17, 1914, a daughter of the late Samuel J. and Ellen (Marshall) Spence, and was educated in the Lowell Public Schools.

For over 20 years, she was employed as an Inspector by Western Electric, until her retirement. She was a member of Matthews Memorial Primitive Methodist Church and held membership in the Beacon Light Class, the Choir and the Bowling League of the church.

Surviving her are a daughter and son-in-law: Geraldine and Walter Flory, of Rockport; four grandchildren: Monty Flory, of Westford; Diane Flory, of Groton; Linda Jeghelian, of Rockport; and Jo-Anne Gorrell, of Rockport; the great-grandchildren, also several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was the sister of the late: Mae Anderson, Bessie Spence, Blanche Spence, Pearl Dobbs and Norman Spence.

Friends may call on Tuesday, June 25th, from 4 to 8 PM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38), Lowell. Her Funeral Service to be held Wednesday morning, June 26th, at 10 AM at MATTHEWS MEMORIAL PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH, East Chelmsford. Burial in the Edson Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
