Frances Mary (DeLucia) Currul, 73, of Milford, died Thursday, October 4, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.
Frances was married to her late husband Peter Currul for 46 happy years. She leaves behind three loving daughters, Betsy (Currul) Radcliffe and her husband Craig of Hopedale, Katie Currul-Dykeman and her husband Scott of Sharon, and Krissy (Currul) Chestna and her husband Wayne of Holliston. Frances was the adored Nana of eight grandchildren: Colin, Oliver, Aiden, Patrick, Evangeline, Atticus, Sabrina, and Tobias. Frances also leaves behind her companion, Gordon Bibbins, who filled the last few years of her life with happiness.
Frances grew up in Franklin. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary DeLucia and is also survived by her older brother Ralph DeLucia of Franklin and numerous nieces and nephews.
A 1963 graduate of Franklin High School, she went on to study Music and Education at Bridgeport University in Connecticut where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree. In 1998, Frances earned a Master’s Degree in education from Cambridge College. She worked as a music teacher for the Milford Public Schools for over 20 years and leaves behind many friends from her time there.
Frances enjoyed going to the beach, traveling to Florida, and spending time with her family. She loved singing and golfing. When Frances wasn’t doing these things, she was most likely shopping! Fran was a funny, strong, spirited woman who will be dearly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at St. Mary’s Church, 19 Winter St., in Milford at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Franklin.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5-8 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
