Phyllis Anne Butler Yarbrough, 78, of Grayson, Georgia, the last living descendant of the Rev. William "Willie" and Martha Jane Sumner Butler, died Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Delmar Gardens in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Relatives in the area include the Ernest (deceased) and Linda Yarbrough family and the Julian (Diane) Yarbrough family.
Family will greet friends beginning at 1 PM, Saturday, October 13, 2018, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:30, with the Rev. Ray Johnson, the Rev. Tommy Land, Jr., and the Rev. Tom Foskey officiating. Interment will follow in Arp Cemetery, Irwin County.
Mrs. Yarbrough was born March 21, 1940, in Tifton, Georgia. She was a graduate of Brown High School in Atlanta. She worked as the human resources and office manager as well as the accountant for her family’s print, mail and advertising business, located in the metro Atlanta area. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Loganville, Georgia.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Don Yarbrough of Grayson; a son, Mr. & Mrs. Mark (Kim) Yarbrough of Monroe, Georgia; a daughter, Angela Ellen “Angie” Yarbrough of Mableton, Georgia; and two grandchildren: Mr. & Mrs. Blake (Tatiana) Yarbrough of Atlanta, Georgia and Max Yarbrough of Lilburn, Georgia. Several in-laws as well as nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all 10 of her older siblings.
