Sara Elaine Hockensmith, 67, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at her residence.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Ms. Hockensmith was born June 21, 1951, to the late Raymond Harris Peters and the late Inez White Elder. She graduated from Wilcox County High School in 1969 and later received her accounting certification from Ben Hill Irwin Tech. Ms. Hockensmith was a bookkeeper for Roanoke Construction and Shep Dunn Construction. She was a member of Crossview Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: Billy & Kim Hockensmith of Cordele, Amber & Jerime Bell of Fitzgerald and Eric Hockensmith of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Alyssa Bell, Dameon Bell, Kailyn Hockensmith, Kinsley Hockensmith, Lexie Hockensmith, Anna Hockensmith and Ally Hockensmith; and her siblings: Mike Peters & Dorethea of Richmond Hill, James L. Gibbs of Fitzgerald, Sudie Elder of Adel, Ed & Rae Elder of Fitzgerald, Charles & Elaine Elder of Fitzgerald and Ethel Lois Simmons & Robert of Cordele. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Randall Peters and Danny Elder and a sister, Patricia M. Miller.
