Born on May 18th 1935 and died October 1st 2018 peacefully in his sleep at the Veterans home in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Richard was born in “Hells Kitchen NY” to the late Edward Americus Gizzie and Patricia Gizzie (Biller). He served proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He is pre-deceased by his four siblings: Eddie, Lee, Dorothy and Helen. He leaves behind his loving children: Richard C Gizzie and Karen J Gizzie, his step-children Charlie Georgoulakos and Dee Dee George Frawley. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as his longtime friend Barbara Yohe which whom he adored. Richard had a great love for cats and dogs and loved Poetry. His favorite being The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. Richard will be cremated. Per his request he will have his ashes scattered on his Mothers grave in Long Island, NY. In lieu of flowers please make donations to your local Veterans homeless shelter or your favorite animal rescue/shelter.
