Londonderry– Richard G. St. Cyr, 91, died September 30, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Boston, MA, on September 24, 1927 the son of Lorenzo and Alfreda (Cote) St. Cyr.
He attended schools in Manchester and Goffstown.
At the age of 17 he enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps. and served until the end of the second world war. He graduated from a trade school in NY City, specializing in transmissions and went into the family business, Larry’s Garage on Queen City Ave. He later worked as a Fleet Mechanic for St. Johnsbury and Nissen Baking Co. in Lawrence, MA.
He then moved to Maui, HI., where he became the sole mechanic for the Maui Taxi Co., where he remained until 2003.
In his retirement he divided his time between his homes in Melbourne, FL. and the family home in Londonderry.
He was a member several American Legion Posts.
He first married Janet (Jones) St. Cyr Loos and had four children; Robert, Diane both of Manchester, Nancy St. Cyr of Orlando, FL., and Daniel St. Cyr of Manchester, they divorced in 1963.
He then married Virginia (Rheaume) in 1965 and lived in Londonderry. They had one son, Richard L. St. Cyr of Manchester, and stepchildren; Jeanne (Rheaume) Perry of Asheville, NC., Judith (Rheaume) Lefavor of Londonderry, Joy (Rheaume) Salvini of Chester, MA., Jon Rheaume of Londonderry, Jayne (Rheaume) Bradley of Bristol, 30 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Committal prayers with military honors will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 12 noon in the chapel in NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
