Obituary

WESTPORT – Jeffrey John “Jeff” Gobeil, 58, of Westport died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, September 26, 2018.

He was married to Gloria Gobeil (Gerlach) for 32 years. Born in New Bedford, raised in Fairhaven, son of Jean P. Gobeil and Elaine Gobeil (Cormier), he lived the past 36 years in Westport.
Mr. Gobeil was a skilled tradesman, welder and pipefitter. He loved the outdoors, was an avid fisherman, dedicated Patriots fan, and animal lover. Jeff was loved by all who knew him; but his favorite people called him “Pop Pop”.

Survivors include his wife; mother; three children, Bernie Perrotty and his wife Paulette of Somerset, Melissa McLaughlin (Perrotty) and her husband Bill of Delmar, N.Y., and Courtney Medeiros (Gobeil) and her husband Ben of Westport; six grandchildren, Calvin Perrotty and Chloe Perrotty, both of Somerset, Nora McLaughlin and Henry McLaughlin, both of Delmar, N.Y., and Liam Medeiros and Avery Medeiros, both of Westport; brother John L. Gobeil of Middleboro; niece Taylor Gobeil of Wrentham; and beloved dog Brandy of Westport.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Parish in Westport at 10:00am on October 5, 2018. Immediately following the Mass, family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of Jeff’s life at Bittersweet Farm in Westport.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jeff’s name to the Animal Rescue League of Boston or to the Samaritans of Fall River/New Bedford.
