WESTFIELD – Duane P. Dupee, 63, of Westfield, was Called Safely Home on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. He was born in North Adams on April 17, 1955, a beloved son of the late Ernest M. and Lorraine D. (Dupre) Dupee. He was raised in Westfield where he graduated from Saint Mary High School, Class of 1973 and lived there until moving to Southampton in 2017. He enjoyed going to local craft fairs and supporting Western Massachusetts artisans as evidenced by his extensive collection of hand-made teddy bears. He loved coordinating parties and having family and friends around him. He never passed up a bargain and gained the nickname, “Good Deal Dupee.” He was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. In addition to his beloved parents, he was also predeceased by his dear sister, Madelyn Dupee who was Called Home on September 3, 1997. He leaves his brothers, Michael Dupee of Newberry, MI, Brian Dupee and his wife, Lynn, of Easthampton, and Clyde Dupee and his fiancée, Denise Hills-McGarry, of Southwick; his sister, Catherine Sabat and her husband, Matthew, of Chicopee; his cherished nephews and nieces, Shawn Dupee, Brandy and Cassy Dupee, Julia, Matthew, Jr. and Corinne Sabat; and his great nephew, Shawn, Jr.; his dear aunt, Gertrude Wright of North Adams; and his caregiver, Lori Liska. His family will receive friends on Saturday morning, October 6, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. which will be followed by a 10:30 a.m. Celebration of Life Service at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.). His Burial will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, 203 Southampton Road, Westfield, MA 01085. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Donations may be made in his memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
