Mario G. Vitale, of Medford, formerly of Somerville, died Thursday, September 27th. He was 89. Born and raised in Campobasso, Italy. He was the son of the late Michael and Elvira Vitale.
Mario loved to play and watch soccer. He especially enjoyed watching the Napoli soccer team, while watching the game you could always find him relaxing and sipping on a cup of expresso. Playing pool came naturally to Mario, as well as winning.
Mario was the beloved husband of Pasqualina Parziale. He was the devoted father of Maria Brennan, and Alfonzo Parziale and his wife Brooke, both of Medford. The loving grandfather of Tanya Hoffman and her husband Chris, Lauren Brennan, Kristina Himmer and her husband Kory, Scarlett Rose and Luca Mario Parziale, great-grandfather of Cecilia Hoffman. Dear brother of Salvatore Vitale and the late Antonio and Vincenzo Vitale. Also survived by many loving family members and friends.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in Saint Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, Tuesday, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 9 through 10:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
