David P. Harrington, 77, a resident of Medway since 1965, died Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Milford Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Geary) Harrington since 1964.
Born in Rockville, Connecticut on August 22, 1941, he was the son of the late George E. Harrington, Jr. and Isabelle (Payne) Harrington.
Dave worked in medical engineering at New England Medical Center for many years. He taught biomedical engineering at the Franklin Institute for 20 years and also at Wentworth, MIT, TUFTS and B.U. He was also very involved in the biomedical community, locally, nationally and internationally, had published over 100 articles and had worked with Mother Teresa while in India.
Dave was one of the founders of youth soccer and hockey in Medway and served on many Medway town boards through the years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Sean Harrington and his wife Alison of Hingham, Bryan Harrington and his wife Cheryl of Bellingham and Todd Harrington and his wife Britt of Bellingham and by six grandchildren, Conor, Camryn, Meghan, Elliot, Patrick and Kathryn.
He is also survived two step-grandchildren Ryan and Jenna Tessier, a brother George Harrington, III of San Antonio, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
Dave was predeceased by his sister Isabelle Luce.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass at St Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
