LONDONDERRY, NH - James A. Galliford, age 70, a former Tewksbury resident, died unexpectedly at his home, Wednesday morning, September 26, from the stresses of Pulmonary disease. He was the beloved husband of Carol Ann (Monteforte) Galliford, with whom he had celebrated a fiftieth wedding anniversary on June 2nd.
He was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School in 1966. After his marriage he remained in Everett, moved to Tewksbury in 1995, and retired to Londonderry three years ago.
He retired from Asahi America in Malden, as a machinist.
In his leisure time, Jim was an artist oil painter, was enchanted by magic and card tricks, held a life-membership in the International Magicians Society, and enjoyed trips to Foxwoods Casino. But his number one love in his life was for his five adored grandchildren, Taylor, Alexa, Kylie, Madison, and David Jr.
Besides his wife and grandchildren, he leaves a son, James H. Galliford of Londonderry; a daughter, Carrieann M. Forgione and her husband David of Tewksbury; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received Monday, October 1, from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. Prayers will be offered at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by burial in Tewksbury Cemetery.
