Florence Madelyn (Hyndman) Caylor, 93, of Anderson, died September 24, 2018 at Community Northview Care Center after an extended illness.
She was born October 3, 1924 in St. Cloud, Florida, the daughter of Dr. Ivor G. and Blanche (Dilley) Hyndman. Florence moved to Anderson in 1938 and graduated from Anderson High School in 1942. She was employed by Anderson Community Schools for several years in the food service and was the manager at Meadowbrook Elementary School. She was devoted to her family, friends, and her church family at Trinity Episcopal Church where she had been a member since 1938. She was active in the Vestry, Women of Trinity, Sunday School, Altar Guild, and was employed as church secretary for several years. She was regarded lovingly as "Mother" by many members.
Florence is survived by her four children, Susan Beeghly of Omaha, Neb.; Karen (Allen) Heacock of Conway, SC; Deborah (William) Wepler and David (Ginger) Caylor all of Anderson; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert J. Caylor, three brothers, Ivor Hyndman, James Hyndman and Lloyd Hyndman and a sister, Gwen Larsen.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Community Northview Care Center for their wonderful care of Florence during her illness.
Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Trinity Episcopal Church with Bishop William Smalley officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Trinity Episcopal Church, 1030 Delaware Street; Anderson, IN 46016.
Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
