TIVERTON – Lucy (Mathias) Costa, 99 formerly of Tiverton, passed away on Monday, Sep. 24, 2018 at the Grace Barker Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Simeon “Sam” Costa & the daughter of the late John & Maria (Souza) Mathias Aguiar. Prior to retiring, Lucy worked at the former Edgar’s Department Store and previously in some of the Fall River Mills. She was a parishioner of St. Christopher’s Church & a member of its Women’s Guild. Lucy also loved to spend quality time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son: Stephen P. Costa (wife Nancy) of Plymouth; daughter in law: Diane M. Costa; grandchildren: Russell P., Ryan T., Todd S., & Timothy S. Costa; great grandchildren: Justin, Zachary, Sean, Alex, Logan, Taylor, Jamie, Lucy, & Henry; several nieces & nephews. Lucy was the mother of the late Paul & George T. Costa, and the sister of the late John & Antonio Mathias, Mary Correia, Eva Mendes, & Anna Costa Carvalho.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Monday, Oct. 1st with a visitation from 9-10 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Christopher’s Church, 1554 Main Road, Tiverton, RI at 11:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 2233 Robeson St., Fall River.
