Rita L. (Fredette) Drobot Menard, age 88, passed away on Sept. 23, 2018 at the Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Ludlow. She was born on March 10, 1930 in Chicopee and has been a lifelong resident. Rita was a daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy (Frodyma) Fredette. Rita was a communicant of St Stanislaus Basilica and a former member of the Rosary Society of St Stanislaus. She is predeceased by her first husband Joseph Drobot, by her second husband Edmund Menard and by an infant, Baby Drobot. She is survived by her son Joseph Drobot and his wife Paulette of Ludlow; 2 daughters Doreen Drobot of Chicopee and Mary Ann Mayo and her husband Jason of Chicopee; 5 grandchildren, Lindsay and her husband Ryan, Jason, Alycia and her husband Jeff, Jonathan, Christopher and his girlfriend Grace; 9 great grandchildren Joe, Brandon, Alex, Dominic, Ethan, Madison, Rachael, Olivia and Max. She also leaves her Siser-in-law Helena; her brother-in-law Norman and his wife Theresa; 2 Godsons Thomas and Leonard Czech of Chicopee, several nieces and nephews, her friends Melanie and Paul and her K9 companions Chevy and Ralphie who will miss her dearly. She is predeceased by her siblings Joseph, Edwin, Stanley and Evelyn. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday Sept. 26, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Grise` Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 at 9 a.m. from the Grise` Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St Stanislaus Basilica at 10:00 a.m. She will then be laid to rest in St Stanislaus Cemetery which will be on the anniversary of her first husband, who passed away on Sept. 27, 1972.
