Joseph Eugene "Shane" Hagan
March 31, 1951- September 21, 2018


Joseph Eugene "Shane" Hagan, 67, passed away peacefully September 21, 2018 following complications from surgery.

Shane was born on March 31, 1951, in Anderson, IN, the son of the late Joseph Hagan and Mary Lou (Davis) Hagan McDonald.

Shane served his country during the Vietnam war from 1969 to 1972 in the US Navy. He retired from Guide Lamp after working 33 1/2 years, was a member of the I.O.O.F., Conservation Club, and American Legion, served as the state chairman of the Bikers Behind Bars program of ABATE of Indiana, and was a spiritual leader for the Buffalo Lightning Way Lodge for 20 years.

Shane had many talents and had many interests. He was a second generation biker, a sixth generation musician, and an artist working in metal, stone, wood, and leather. He enjoyed talking to everyone, watching Harry Potter, and hunting. He was a man devoted to loving, protecting, and supporting his large circle of friends and family.

Shane is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sherry Lyn Hagan; his daughter and son-in-law, Carrieann (Will, husband) Johnson; two sons and daughter-in-law, Matt Hagan, and Paul (Aleska, Wife) Hagan; Grandsons Jacob Johnson, Joshua Johnson, and Kenneth Harrison, and great granddaughter, Luna Johnson. Shane is also survived by two siblings, Phillip (Deborah, wife) Hagan and Julia Hagan, adopted siblings Amney Harper, and Jeremiah Cunningham, along with several nieces and nephews. Shane is survived by many more not listed, a large circle of friends and family whose lives, hearts, and spirits he touched and left lasting impressions upon.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Rozelle- Johnson Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and Wednesday from 9:00 -10:00 a.m.
The family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses in lieu of flowers.
