Gilbert Neal Renner, 91, of Anderson, passed away September 22, 2018 at Prim Rose Memory Care in Anderson following an extended illness.
Gilbert was born on December 23, 1926 in Fishersburg, Indiana, the son of Oak and Blanche (Schuyler) Renner. He was employed by General Motors, Guide Division for 42 years, retiring as head of Labor Relations in 1987. He was a member of the Jaycees, the NRA , and the Polio Foundation. He was a WW II Veteran 1942-46, and was active with the Merchant Marines. He served on the board of College Park Condominiums, held a real estate license and owned Associated Enterprise Used Cars.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Gretna (Thomas) Renner, a daughter, Belita (Mike) Hardwick of New Castle, 2 grandchildren; Bryan (Tammy) Hornbeck and Lori (Steve) Dunn, a great granddaughter, Cali Anne Hornbeck and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Donald, Austin, and Glenn Renner and 3 sisters, Crystal Friggle, Grethel Curry, and Caroline Begley.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Rozelle- Johnson Funeral Service. Entombment will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 1-3 PM on Wednesday, prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
