George F. Henry, 65, of New Bedford died September 21, 2018 at home after a long illness.
He was the husband of Deborah A. (Dube) Henry.
Born and raised in Acushnet, son of the late Ellis C. and Barbara (Kennedy) Henry, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. Henry was formerly employed as a commercial fisherman on several vessels in the New Bedford fleet.
He enjoyed playing pool and reading science fiction.
Survivors include his wife; a step-son, Russell Watkins and his wife Vera of Brockton; a step-daughter, Gina Watkins and her companion Scott Lewis of New Bedford; a brother, Daniel Henry of Acushnet; 5 sisters, Beverly Vargas of Texas, Ann Jones of North Carolina, Barbara Felix of New Bedford, Marjorie Henry of Acushnet and Carol Shurtleff of Westport; 3 grandchildren, Aaron Watkins, Calvin Roldan and Cameron Lewis; a great-grandson, Aaron A. Watkins; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Betty Dube, Richard Henry, Donald Henry and Michael Henry.
His funeral arrangements will be private.
