
Susan K. Piper, 51, of Exeter, NH, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 in the Exeter Hospital. Mrs. Piper was born in Long Island, NY on February 15, 1954, a daughter of Walter Kolb Sr. and the late Dorothy (Smith) Kolb. She was a resident of Exeter for the past six months, formerly living in Derry, NH. She was a graduate of Plymouth State College where she received her Bachelor degree. She had been employed as a teacher in the Derry School system for 28 years. She had also worked with the Sonshine Soup Kitchen in Derry for many years, and was very active in the Derry community and the Derry school system over the years.
She is survived by her husband, Gregg Piper of Exeter, two sons, Ryan Piper of Merrimack, NH, Matthew Piper of Exeter, one granddaughter, Meridian, her father, Walter Kolb Sr. of Arizona, two brothers, Walter Kolb Jr. of Long Island, Donald Kolb of Arizona, several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Following cremation, calling hours were held on Friday, December 9, 2005 from 5 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Memorial services were held on Saturday, December 10th at 10:00am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sonshine Soup Kitchen, 4 Crystal Ave., Derry, NH 03038 or to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115.
