Obituary

EAST WOODSTOCK, CT – Jane L. (Shepard) Morse, 75, of 311 Dugg Hill Road, died
Saturday, Dec. 3, in UMass/Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 56 years, Lewis S. Morse; four children, Jeffrey Morse of Assonet, MA, Kathleen Van Schoick of Oakham, MA, David Morse of East Woodstock, and Gretchen Pohlman of Pomfret; a sister, Alden Farber of Woodstock; two brothers, Donald Shepard of Plainfield and William Shepard of North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Michael, Jessica, Emily, Grace, Erica, Mary Kate, Rebecca, Katrina and Heidi.

She was born in New Britain and raised in Putnam and Thompson, a daughter of Everett and
Fern (Redden) Shepard. She lived in Woodstock for 60 years. She graduated from Woodstock Academy in 1948.

Mrs. Morse was a teacher’s aide for 10 years at Woodstock Elementary School and a homemaker. She was a member of the East Woodstock Congregational Church.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 10, in the East Woodstock Congregational Church, Doctor Pike Road. There are no calling hours. The family suggests donations be made to the East Woodstock Congregational Church, PO Box 156, East Woodstock, CT 06244-0156. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, MA
