Westport – Donna E. (Pettey) Gamache, 65, of Highland Avenue, Westport passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the treasured wife of Conrad G. Gamache.
She was born in Fall River, daughter of Muriel (Russell) Pettey and the late Daniel M. and Anna (Simmons) Pettey and was a lifelong resident of Westport. A 1958 graduate of Westport High School, she was an assistant manager for 27 years at Sears & Roebuck in Fall River and Swansea and also worked as a telephone operator for J.C. Penny for 9 years. She was a member of the Westport Point United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and sports enthusiast and enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Including her treasured husband and mother, she is survived by a grandmother: Agnes (Boulds) Cheetham-Russell of Westport; 2 beloved sons: Norman Gamache of Fall River and Michael C. Gamache of Westport; 4 beloved daughters: Gretchen A. Roussin of Durham, NH, Corinne Manchester of Somerset, Monique Ponte of Florida and Michelle I. Gamache of Westport; 2 brothers: Daniel M. Pettey II of Fall River and Mitchell S. Pettey of Westport; a sister: Jane M. Nunes of Westport; a daughter-in-law: Lisajean Gamache; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, December 10, 2005 at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Friday 4 – 8 P.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
