Obituary

SHREWSBURY___Bessie A. (Menken) Moore, 86, formerly of 36 No. Quinsigamond Ave and formerly of Worcester, died Saturday Dec. 3 in Radius Healthcare, 29 Main St., Millbury. Her husband, Walter F. Moore died in 1978.

She leaves four sons, John T. Moore of Boylston; Charles H. Moore of Oxford; Carl F. Moore of Worcester and William G. Moore of Shrewsbury; four daughters, Marion E. Adams of Worcester; Barbara E. Boswell of Arizona; Lynne C. Davis of Tennesse and Karen E. Scott of Oxford; a brother, Sumner H. Menken of Manchester, N.H., twenty-one grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a daughter, Doris and three sisters, Alice Hinchey, Esther Cranford and Shirley Johnson. She was born and raised in Gloucester daughter of Herbert and Marion (Davison) Menken and later lived many years in Worcester before moving to Shrewsbury in 1997.

Mrs. Moore was a former member of Lakeview Congregational Church. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and bingo. She was a graduate of Gloucester High School.

The funeral will be held on Thursday December 8 at 10 a.m. in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., Worcester. A graveside service will follow at 12 NOON in Locust Grove Cemetery, Washington St., Gloucester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday Deccember 7 from 4 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mercy Centre for Developmental Disabilities, 25 West Chester St., Worcester, Ma. 01605.
