Mr. Hoover DeSanctis, age 77, died at home, Friday, December 2, 2005 after a lengthy illness. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Assunta (Dorazio) & Frank DeSanctis. Hoover and his wife, Phyllis have been Melrose residents for the last 46 years, formerly of East Boston.
Hoover was the owner and operator of the Suffolk Builders Supply, he retired in 1997. Hoover was a member of the Beverly Son´s of Italy as well as the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club. He was a golf fanatic and spent many hours on the course with family and friends. Lastly Hoover was a frequent visitor of Dillon´s Russian Steam Bath of Chelsea, where he made many lifelong friends.
In addition to his wife Phyllis, Hoover is survived by his daughters, Susan DeSanctis of Lincoln, Jo-An DeSanctis of Concord and his son Paul DeSanctis of Wakefield. Loving grandfather of Michael Rhodin, Emily Butters and Elizabeth Butters. Brother of Louis DeSanctis, Vera Iapicca, Rose Cortese, Lydia Bevis and the late Wilson DeSanctis, El Vera Viera, Teresa Cosgrove and Aldo DeSanctis. Hoover is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours Monday 4 thru 9. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
