
PERRY, Mary E. (Gaine), 95, a long-time resident of Wellesley, who spent her last few years at Traditions in Wayland, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018.
Mary was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Gaine (Guthrie) of Somerville, and the widow of Aubrey L. Perry, who passed away in 1974. Mary was born and raised in Somerville. She graduated from Somerville High School and from the Higgins School of Business in Boston. She married Aubrey in 1947. Together, they raised five children, moving between New York, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts as his career developed. Mary returned to the workplace, first as an administrative assistant to the Dean of Students at Graham Junior College, and then as an office administrator for Duralectra in Natick, where she worked for more than 20 years. Mary loved people, loved to cook and entertain, loved to spend time with friends and family, to shop and celebrate occasions.
She leaves two daughters and three sons; Nancy A. Klaffky (Rick), Newport, RI, and Jeanne P. Darcey (John), Sudbury, MA, Edward L. Perry (Jo), South Natick, MA, Robert F. Perry, Andover, MA, and William M. Perry (Peggy), Ashland, MA. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by her brothers William and Edward Gaine.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16), WELLESLEY, on Monday September 24 at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul Church, 502 Washington St., Wellesley at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Sunday, September 23 from 3-6pm. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
