Lily (Rego) Hall, 78, of Acushnet passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday September 18, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Ronald E. Hall.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John M. and Lily (Monks) Rego, she lived in Acushnet for many years.
Mrs. Hall began her long banking career as a teller at the Merchants National Bank, progressing through the years to become a Vice President in the Private Banking Division of BayBank until her retirement.
She was a graduate of New Bedford High School, Class of 1957 and attended the American Institute of Banking.
She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Her greatest prides and joys were her loving grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Steven M. Hall of Acushnet; her daughter, Atty. Susan L. John and her husband Christopher of Norton; her siblings, Norma Bridge of Utah, Robert Rego and his wife Rena of Quincy, and Gail Pereira of Connecticut; her brother-in-law, Robert W. Hall and his wife Carole of Acushnet; four grandchildren, Abigail R. John, Jacob M. John, Hannah E. John, and Sarah K. John; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late John Rego and Herb Rego.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday September 22, 2018 at 11 AM at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, New Bedford. Burial in Riverside Cemetery will be private. Visiting hours will be on Friday September 21, 2018 from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett.
