Obituary

Nicholas F. Santoro, 90, died September 18, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Nick was born March 23, 1928 and was a lifelong Franklin resident. He was husband to Marie (Cataldo) Santoro for 61 years. During this time, he was blessed with two children and three grandchildren.

He was a member of the Franklin High School class of 1946, where he was the quarterback of the high school team. He went on to attend Dean Academy and The University of Miami.

Nick was the founder and president of the family business, New England Food Service Co. Nick was also a former member of the board of directors with the Bellingham Business Association. He was president of The Business Association 1986-1987. Nick was also president of The United Chamber of Commerce, 1990. He was named United Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year, 1991. Nick was named Rotarian of the Year in 2008. The Rotary also named him a Paul Harris Fellow. Nick was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus and a former member of Saint Anthony’s Club. Many years ago, Nick was a dance instructor for the Arthur Murray Dance Studios. Nick also served as an usher for Saint Mary’s Church in Franklin for many years.

Nick is survived by his beloved wife, Marie Santoro; dearly loved children and their spouses, Cheryl and David Marguerite and Nick and Jill Santoro; and cherished grandchildren Eric Marguerite, Cheryl Marie Marguerite, and Marissa Santoro. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth and sister Jeanette.

He was the brother of the late Terrence Santoro.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Monday Sept. 24th, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Jude Church 86 Main St. Norfolk, at 10AM.

Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Franklin.

Calling hours are Sunday 2-6PM.
