Michael Brian Hughes, 74, died Sunday September 16, 2018.
Son of the late Francis Hughes and Blanche Bertrand Hughes and brother of the late David F. Hughes.
Michael was born in Newton and graduated from Natick High School. After graduation he attended Bentley College. He had great admiration of the outdoors including hiking and climbing. He has climbed Mount Washington as well as Mount Everest. A good camping trip partnered with Formula One Car Racing event was also one of his biggest passions. Photography and automotive mechanics were also favorite pastimes. He was a parts specialist for Charles River Saab in Watertown, MA until retirement 2010.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 52yrs Marie Frances Hughes, sons: Curtis and his wife Jessica Hughes and Richard Hughes, daughters: Faete and her husband Paul Grant and Kimberly Ruiz; his brother: Paul Hughes and his wife Ginger, his sisters in laws: Elizabeth O’Leary and Ruth Hughes, his grand-daughter: Alexandra and an expected grandson arriving in the coming weeks, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. He also leaves a special friend of 38 years Bill W.
The family would like to thank the staff at Newton Wellesley Alzheimers Center for the excellent care Michael received from Eugenia, Kim, Ashley, and Kathleen. Additional thanks to the staff at Constellation Hospice for their services.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday September 21, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common. Please bring a memory to share about Michael for the service. Visiting hours will be held Friday morning prior to service 9:00 A.M. -10:45 A.M. at the Funeral Home.
