Obituary

Michael S. “Mikey Shoo” Scimeca, 74 of Medford died unexpectedly Wednesday in the Melrose/Wakefield Hospital Melrose, MA.

Born in Boston, he lived in Medford for many years and was the son of the late Lena (Miceli) and Salvatore Scimeca. Michael worked at Polaroid as a Production Manager for 27 years and retired in 1992. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955 aboard the USS Bache, a Sixth Fleet destroyer as an Electrician Mate 3rd Class.
Michael also was a member of the Malden Moose Lodge #1910, ITAM Revere, and The Arlington Men´s Club.

Beloved husband of Margaret “Mickey Re”. Devoted father of Michael Scimeca Jr. of Maynard, and Richard Scimeca of Wakefield. Loving grandfather of Ricky, Nicholas, Michael III, and Nicolemarie. Brother of the late Bessie Abramo, Joseph and Charlie Scimeca.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 9 AM.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 8.

Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
