Marie Grimsley Bridwell, 77, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Pruitt Health of Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, September 17, 2018, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Dan Hayes and the Rev. Barry Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bridwell was born January 15, 1941, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Mayo & Edith Jones Grimsley. She lived in the community most of her life and was a waitress for the Spotted Pig, worked at Griffin’s Flower shop and was a seamstress for Fitzgerald Underwear. Mrs. Bridwell also kept her grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her husband of 47 ½ years, Bob Bridwell of Fitzgerald; children: Raymond Watson & Torrie of Fitzgerald, Gary Watson & Wanda of Fitzgerald and Paula Bullington & Ralph of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Ryan Watson & Jennifer, Bryan Watson & Lynn, Kaylan Dekle & Kyle, Kristen Watson, Gary Chambless, and Miranda Bullington; great-grandchildren: Reed Watson, Emily Watson, Brylynn Watson, Harlyn Watson, Karter Dekle, Kade Dekle, Grayson Cooper, Bradley Watts, Payton Watts, Andrew Watts and Orin Chambless; a sister, Sharon Pettis of Ocilla and a brother, Alan & Linda Grimsley of Sylvester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Brandi Watts and Ralph Bullington, Jr. and a brother, Bobby Grimsley.
