Neomia Harper, 91, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Friday, September 14, 2018, at Pruitt Health of Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Sunday, September 16, 2018, at The Ocilla Church of God, in Ocilla, Georgia, with the Rev. Leroy Spivey officiating. Ronald Haire will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Harper was born October 18, 1926, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Onnie & Dora Richardson Youghn. She lived in the community all of her life and worked for Oxford in Tifton, Georgia, as a seamstress. She enjoyed crafts, coloring and fishing. Mrs. Harper was a member of the Ocilla Church of God.
She is survived by three daughters: Velma Reed of Eufaula, Alabama, Linda Haire & Ronald of Gaffney, South Carolina and Marie Harper of Ocilla; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Doc Youghn of Lax and Eugene Youghn of Lax; and a sister, Effie Purvis of Washington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eston Russell Harper; a son, Russell L. Harper and two sisters: Lora Harper and Barbara Ross.
