Jane C. (Chevalier) Martel, 91, of Tiverton died peacefully on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Warren Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the beloved wife of 68 years to Joseph "Roland" Martel.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Albert and Paula (St. Onge) Chevalier, she had lived in Tiverton for most of her life. Mrs. Martel had worked for United Merchants and then transferred to Arkwright Finishing where she worked for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Including her husband, survivors include a daughter: Nancy J. Neto of Fall River; a son: Ronald R. Martel and his wife Susan of Tiverton; a sister: Helen E. Ryan and her husband John of CT; 2 grandchildren: Brandon Neto and his wife Kelly and Andrea Palumbo and her husband Nicholas; 5 great grandchildren: Andrew, Ethan, Luca, Anna and Nina; and several nieces and nephews.
She was mother-in-law of the late Jeremiah Neto.
Memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, September 21, 2018 at St. Christopher's Church, 1660 Main Rd., Tiverton at 10:00 AM.
Memorial visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 PM at the Potter Funeral Home,.
