Obituary

Anna passed into God’s care on Thursday, September 13, 2018 while at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Cranston, RI on March 30, 1928 to her loving parents, Antonio DeSanto, formerly from Arce, Italy, and Angela Marie (DeSantis), formally of Barnella, Italy.

Anna was one of eight children: Micheline, Angelina, Attillio, Michelina, Vincenza, Joseph and Anthony, all of whom have predeceased her.

Anna was a devoted mother to her five children and is welcomed into heaven by daughters Sharon Vecchio and Margaret Hartwell.
Anna (Nana) will be deeply missed by her surviving children and their loved ones, Charles McCarthy and Arlene Suchodolski of Pawtucket, Jean and David Fecteau of Glocester, Patricia McCarthy and David Shuman of Seekonk, as well as her beloved seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Anna’s greatest joys were her family who she always lovingly cared for. Anna also shared a love for her Red Sox with her brother Anthony.

A Mass of Christian Burial to be held Monday at 10am in St. Eugene’s Church 1251 Putnam Pike, Chepachet, RI 02814, where she was a long-time celebrant. Anna will be interred in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Cranston, RI. Visitation Sunday 3-6pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Eugene’s Church.
