SPRINGFIELD ~ Barbara R. (Isham) Robertson, 83, of the East Springfield section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, September 13, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on November 13, 1934, a beloved daughter of the late Walter W. Isham, Sr. and May B. (Taylor) Isham. She was raised and educated in Springfield and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was employed for 26 years at the Danamore Hair Salon in Wilbraham. She was a communicant and choir member of Mary, Mother of Hope Church in Springfield and also was a member of the Marksman Drum and Bugle Corps. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many dear friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, John J. “Jack” Robertson who was Called Home on March 18, 2009. They were married on June 4, 1955 at the former Saint Mary Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 53 years of happiness together. She leaves her five loving children, Robert J. Robertson and his wife, Shirley, Sheryl A. Dansereau and her companion, Greg Ringuette, Debra K. Vandini and her husband, Dean, Linda J. Slatcher and her companion, Glenn Picard, and Alan M. Robertson; her six cherished grandchildren and four cherished great-grandchildren; her five dear brothers, Walter Isham and his wife, Maryanne, Stuart Isham and his wife, Betty, Robert Isham and his wife, Ellie, Phillip Isham and his wife, Lori, and Albert Isham; her two dear sisters, Gloria Glynn and Christine St. John and her husband, Doug; her dear sister-in-law, Vickie Isham; her special friend who was like a sister to her, Lula Lagares; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Robertson and Isham families. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her three dear brothers, Clark, Charles and Nick Isham; and her two dear sisters, Clarinda “Midge” St. John and Lynn Rose Heath. Her funeral will be held on Monday morning, September 17, 2018 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 9:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Boulevard, Springfield, MA 01104. Her committal service will follow the Mass at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
