In South Dartmouth, Norma (Bernier) Longo, Age 87, passed away peacefully in her home while surrounded by her loving family on September 11, 2018. Norma was the wife of the late Edward H. Longo. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late George & Alice (Calvey) Bernier. Norma resided in South Dartmouth the past three years and was formerly of Taunton and Berkley. Norma worked various jobs when her children were young but was primarily a devoted and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, doing word searches, puzzles and traveling. She could diagnose a problem and figure out a way to fix it whether it was a rusty hinge or a broken heart. Norma leaves a wonderful circle of friends: Shirley Hoey, Patricia Higson, Mary Hannigan and her new neighbors at Hidden Bay. She will be dearly missed by all who came in contact with her. Norma is survived by her children, Rhonda Hartley and her husband Gary of N.J., Elizabeth Carbone and her husband Frank of South Dartmouth and Joan Davis and her husband Dan of FL. She leaves her grandchildren: Sarah Becker, Chrystal Santos, Jonathan Hartley and Daniel Hartley, her great grandchildren: Sydney, James, Luis, Sylvia and Emmeline. Norma also leaves her siblings: Jean Tremblay and Patricia Taylor both of Taunton and the late William Bernier, Avis Conaty, Rita Halliley, Lorraine Tremblay, Elizabeth Andrews, George Bernier, Leo Bernier, Shirley Rose and Donald Bernier. A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Monday, September 17th at 11am. Visiting hours will be prior to the service from 9:30-11am. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
