Obituary

TEWKSBURY: John L. “Jack” O’Hara, age 59, a resident of Tewksbury for 30 years, died unexpectedly at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, following a two month battle with cancer.
He was the husband of Ann M. (Gorman) O’Hara, with whom he celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary on November 23rd.
Born in Cambridge on January 17, 1946, he was the son of the late James and Rita (Sullivan) O’Hara.
Mr. O’Hara was raised in Wilmington.
He attended Wilmington schools and graduated from Wilmington High School in 1964.
Mr. O’Hara later attended Lowell Tech (U.Mass-Lowell) and was graduated from the Northeast Technical Institute of Boston.
He served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged from active duty on February 10, 1970.
Mr. O’Hara was employed as a manufacturing engineer by the Wang Corporation of Tewksbury and Lowell for over 20 years and the Sanmina Corporation of Salem, NH for 5 years. He was currently working as a partner in a local business.
Mr. O’Hara was a communicant of St. Dorothy’s Parish in Wilmington.
In earlier years, he served as a coach for several Tewksbury Little league Baseball Teams.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; Jack P. O’Hara of Tewksbury and his girlfriend Suzanne Borba of Lowell and Brian J. O’Hara of Tewksbury; one brother; James J. O’Hara and his wife Mary(O’Connell) of Lowell; his father-in-law and mother-in-law; John and Margaret (Hourihan) Gorman of Tewksbury; two sisters-in-law; Nancy Maida and her husband Robert and Patti McLennan and her husband Jack all of Tewksbury; also three nieces and two nephews.
Calling hours Friday, December 2nd, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Saturday, December 3rd at 10 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St., Rte. 38, Wilmington. Interment at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Tewksbury Food Pantry, 999 Whipple Road, Tewksbury, MA 01876 are requested.
