BATTLES, Eugenia M. (Sprague) “Jean”, of Winthrop, passed away on September 9, 2018. She was 79 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald D. Battles. Born in Winthrop, she was the daughter of the late John Sprague and Joan (McCormick) Venuti. Devoted mother of James M. Racca of Georgetown, Paul D. Racca of East Boston and the late Stephen F. Racca. Loving grandmother of Amanda and Tayla Racca and great-grandmother of Jasmine Racca. Dear sister of Joan O’Brien and her husband Jim of Belgrade, MT. and dear aunt of Gary and Darren O'Brien. A Graveside Service will be held in Puritan Lawn Cemetery 185 Lake St. Peabody, MA on Thursday, September 20 at 11am. Please gather and line up at the main gate entrance by 10:45am. Eugenia, known to many as "Jean" enjoyed traveling throughout the country and practiced astrology as her favorite hobby.
